As we approach 2010 I think about all the things that have happened in our lives, some good and some devastating. Leaving some people questioning God.
I have learn't that God is not sleeping, He hasn't folded up his hands, and said "I am out of here!".
Although sometimes I wouldn't blame Him the way His children act and treat Him.

Hebrews 13:5-6 says

"Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with such things that you have, for he has said, 'I will never  leave you, nor forsake you,' so that we may boldly say, 'The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do to me.'"

God does not abandon us. Never !!

Abandonment is something we see here all the time in Davao. Children abandon to the streets, women abandoned by their husbands, the list goes on. I think of a blog that was recently posted by our dear missionary friend Steve Hyde in Cambodia, titled " Mommy where are you?".  Steve mentions a conversation that he had with three kids who where standing by his car. He asked them "why they were up so late at night?", of which one of the older boys replied "we are waiting for mommy". As it was these children were waiting for there mom who had crossed the Thailand border to try and find work. If they get a job they maybe gone for days, weeks and even years. For some of these children their parents may never come home. They are left to beg, and as Steve writes on his blog, their mother had given them a bottle and told them to beg for milk for their baby brother.

I think sometimes we think God is like these parents who have crossed the border, we feel that He has abondoned us. We keep waiting for him to return, to take care of us, to feed us. We ask him "but why Lord?".  "Why did my child walk away from you?",  "Why is my loved one not healed?"... Why? Why? Why?

Some expect that the Christian life should guarantee immunity from most of the troubles that are common to mankind. However, the life of the Christian is not free from troubles. In fact, we can expect troubles to come simply because we are Christians. Jesus promised us "trials, tribulations and pursecution for His Name sake", but this we know, God is with us always!

I am learning this everyday in my journey with God. "This adventure we call life".

So I ask you, "is there anything impossible and beyond solution for God?"

We can trust Him to empower us to do the impossible. You can count on Him always. He is always there to help. There is never a moment when He is not present. There is never a time He is unaware of our every thought and need. He will never leave you nor forsake you!

I am reminded of what my Pastor preached here on Sunday here in Davao.  "God innitiates the impossibe, when we respond correctly by faith." We are like a plane, and the plane represents our lives as we fly through out this world, and faith is alot like jumping out of plane.

So LET GO AND LET GOD!  Don't be afraid to jump. God is not going to let you fall or crash, He is ready to catch you, he won't abandon you in your time of need. He is like a parachute, just waiting for us to pull the ripcord, and sore with him to new heights.
