Since we started the horse ministry almost every horse that arrives at our ministry center has some kind of injury caused by transportation. We have video of loading 2 horses into a hired truck in which one of the horses almost slid under the truck. They have no proper ramps and they expect the horses to jump into the back of the trucks where they force the animals in using ropes. We decided NOT to put the video online as it is actually distrubing to us.
With the expanding of the ministry we had need of hauling grass, installations of biosand water filters and it has been a desire to haul our own horses to minimize any injuries.
November 2009, a friend of Darrell & Shannon in Malaybulay had a small Suzuki Multi-Cab 4x4 for sale. CCM had no budget for it, however because of the necessity of having a proper vehicle for the ministry center needs our friend agreed to sell it to Darrell & Shannon whereby we could make payments of 10,000 pisos per month. We had to make some repairs and build a custom cage for the back. Altogether the small truck cost around $2,200 Canadian. As you can see in the photo gallery this little truck is a real blessing to our ministry needs!
However, since we made the deal on the truck Darrell & Shannon's have experienced a large finanical trial. Please pray that Darrell's personal motorcycle will sell quickly so they can buyout the truck quickly.
